Beat Stress II

pd_stress_070508_msStress can do anything on earth that it wants to you. If you don’t control it, it will control you. But what is life really without stress? A little makes things interesting. But there are mild and more extreme cases of stress.  Prevent the outcome of too much stress, or fight it when its here.

We all experience it. Whether your life is busy, you’ve lost something/someone, or everything/everyone around you is getting and keeping you down. Find something to keep you up. When life gives you lemons, you’ll probably sometimes want to just sit there, hide, stay to yourself and let it build up inside of you until you feel that fire in your chest that makes you just want to scream until it is out. Get out of that habit. Get help.

  2. Lynn Says:

I attempt to work through stress by dealing with it when it comes up instead of allowing it to fester.

Last night for instance, I was coming home from somewhere and it started snowing. I barely made it up the hill near home in the snow which had started while I was out. I noticed my hands were gripping the wheel and my neck was knotted from holding to the car as I passed four others that had spun out. When I got to the top of the hill, I pulled to the side of the road, relaxed my hold on the steering wheel, breathed calmly for a bit, then went on my way. By the time I got home, I’d forgotten all about it!

  3. Alisa Bowman Says:

I’ve found that I deal better with stress when I 1) exercise regularly (I run or walk every day, but the running is REALLY key) 2) Have sex regularly (if I go longer than a week, you really don’t want to be around me) 3) Relax at night before bed instead of work 4) Get enough sleep.

That all seems to set the stage for resiliency. I seem to be able to handle whatever life throws at me as long as I TAKE CARE OF ME first.

  4. if we learn to manage our stress we can all live a healthier life. Thanks for the post.
