Sorry to burst your bubble but you CAN lose weight!
December 31, 2008
I’ve come across and trained people who have wanted to lose weight for quite sometime, but haven’t really put much effort into it. They try one thing, or two or three things, such as a new diet or whatever new exercise or piece of exercise equipment that is hot at the moment. They jump from new thing, to new thing, without finding the right thing and sticking to it and then give up and believe that their body isn’t made for weight loss. Or because they’ve had more pounds on than they care for a long time, they just settle and believe that it was meant to be.
Here are some tips to get the pounds to start falling off:
1. Pass on the fad diets and get into what works long term.
- lean foods, proteins, carbs, fats, fiber, keep hydrated- water works
2. Exercise
3. There will be times when you wont want to keep up with the workout or good eating, find something or someone to motivate you. Figure out exactly why you are working out and exactly why you want/need to lose weight
4.You’ll need to exercise more than once a week. Once a week wont do anything for you. You can forget about what you did last week.
5. Reward yourself for keeping up. Not with sweets or a day off from the gym. Buy yourself a new outfit or something
6. If you are truly working hard to lose weight, but can’t- see your Dr. there could be some other issue that he/she can uncover
7. Seek professional help (trainer, fitness manager)
8. Get serious about your health

Natasha, you’re so right. None of our excuses are real. EVERYONE can lose weight if they’re willing and committed and not on medications that prevent it or have that disease where they wake up in the night and unbeknownst to themselves, eat everything that isn’t locked down! Best wishes to everyone who is planning to follow your guidelines and get it done in 2009!
